I survived and actually did get my lazy butt to a networking party. It was a really fancy MySpace party. I am super impressed with myself for not opting out and heading straight for my couch to watch Dancing With The Stars on my DVR. Here is a photo to prove that I actually was there, taken from my Nokia N95:
