The Today Show

On this rainy New York day I am preparing for my upcoming appearance on The Today Show, tinkering around with my blog, and thinking about heading to the grocery store.

I will be live on The Today Show on Monday at 7:40 a.m. I have been asked to talk about ways to find coupons and discounts online. They certainly asked the right person for this segment because I am, if nothing else, a really great shopper. I will also be on The Today Show on Friday morning but I'll share more information about that piece as the date approaches.

I have rearranged my Web site a little. I added a headshots page and moved my blog posts off of the main page. For those of you you read this in an RSS feed, this won't matter to you. The rest of you will have to click over to the Natali's Blog page to read posts. I felt that my home page should have basic information about me rather than my random blog posts. I am hoping that this presents a more professional look but you're free to disagree with me.

I also have to unpack my overnight bag. I just got back from a road trip to Boston with the Loaded crew. We took a whirlwind jaunt to Beantown and even though a lot went wrong for the three of us, a lot went right too. For starters, we shot a really interesting feature piece at the University of New Hampshire. We interviewed Janis Wolak, a professor who does research about Internet predators. We also shot a feature about the new LED lights in the Old North Church in Boston. Both segments will be featured in upcoming episodes of Loaded.

On this trip, I got to see more of New England than I've ever seen before and I really enjoyed it. It is so clean compared to New York. In fact, when we drove back into Manhattan, I turned around to my crew and said, "Did one of you guys fart?" They said, "Nope, that's just New York." I guess I grew accustomed to the fresh New England air in just two short days.

Finally, I got to bond with my crew. I really love those guys. I could not have been handed a better set of people to work with than Randall Bennett and Wilson Tang. On Monday or Tuesday, the three of us will discuss both the perils and the positive things that came out of this road trip on Randall and Wilson's daily podcast, The 404. Be sure to tune in!

Grocery store time!

Great, you're making an appearance on The Today Show the same day I start my new job. Thank God for TiVo. Good luck.

Took me a minute or two, to figure out the new layout. But I was able to navigate. I'm sure most people will be able to also.

Your Bio on the first page looks good,I would still add a head shot with the Bio,it would look more professional.
Looks like you had fun in beantown, I was wanted to go there, never made it. Robert

I'm feeling free to disagree with you haha ;) Going to your website and straight into a kinda minimal content page that is point form about you made me think I clicked on the wrong link. You have to remember that people come here to read your blog. It's dynamic information that is worth the time to actually come to the site(ie: information only you are able to dish out about the inner-workings of your job...which is pretty interesting right?).

Your personal info is almost an aside. Or are you trying to start your own Natali-wiki haha like a cheap bargain version!

Honestly though it's kinda dry and weak for someone to come here and actually want to come back. Think of it like a car ad. The New 2008 DelConti... before you even show the car you start going on about gas mileage and horsepower and what tires come in the Touring package and the history of the DelConti legacy? Gotta throw up some glitz and glam to cause repeat clicks. Your blog is exactly that. Plus it shows you're human and this isn't just a bio-deck display. You are interactive, therefor I must come back to see what piece of cheese you've left for me. If not...it becomes more of a 'see it and leave it' experience.

And if this is for prospective media kits or employers or what have you? Well...I'm sure this site is not the way they will find you haha I'm sure your writing(which would be cool if you put up some examples...I've never been able to read any of it), your on-air appearances, and your involvement in socialistic activities will be the main thing that causes your notoriety.

So it's just food for thought...sorry for the long-ass comment :) Just want to help you out!

Take care,
D

You came to BOS and didn't drop me a line? You suck, Nat. ;)

Oh shoot, I wish I would have seen this before now. I saw that the Today show was doing that segment right this morning but I walked out the door before it came on. If I had known it was gonna be Natali I would have been late to work to see the segment. Congrats Natali on getting even more National Media coverage.

Didn't read your blog until after you had already been on the Today show, usually watch the Vblogs ~8am. Watched the link on MSNBC tho, he tried to steal your lines and you slid right in as if nothing happened. Good as always, dottir!!
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday, I'll set up the VCR (yes, I still use one sometimes)before I take my wife to work so I can see it on the box.
Interesting changes to the website. You'll probably make more changes for a better fit.

Waitaminute! Waitaminute! Although I'm sure being born and raised in New York City has something to do with the condition of my lungs, I'm going to add that depending where you are, this place has darn fine air considering the amount of active people per square mile compared to other [deserted] cities. People can't pollute a place where they're not.

And we like to think of our air as "seasoned", like a fine dish of pasta & sauce, lo mein, jerked chicken, or rice & beans...

Congrats on the Today show spot, Natali. Good stuff!

The change to your website is right on. Not too crazy about those bottom two headshots. They look too dark, and they don't match your personality's style when you report.
I too will be appearing on the Today show -- I'll be outside the window with my big "Al Roker's fan club presidential candidate" sign... Weather Pattern Change You Can Believe In.

Hi Natali.. great job I just watched the piece. You were so calm and natural up there, unlike the other guy.. I lost count of how many times he said umm and seemed to stutter a bit. I guess he was kind of nervous. It happens.... Great job!!

I was in a waiting room on Monday morning when you came on the Today show. You did great, my wife and I both agree you did a good job. Glad to see you get continued national exposure.

Just my $0.02, but you might wanna put a more prominent link to your blog on your new homepage. First-time visitors might not realize there's more to the site.
